Tips and advices to live in Hanoi - Districts

Expatriate District - TAY HO

Located to the northwest on the peninsula, of the same name on the shores of Lake Ho Tay (western lake) Tay Ho is one of the most residential areas.
There are also a large number of expatriates living there. Renting a villa in this region costs from 1,500 to more than 4,000 USD$ per month.
It is a quiet and less polluted, greener, lively and resourceful area (Western and local restaurants, sports halls, bookstores, etc.).

The Old Quarter of Hanoi - HOAN KIEM

This neighborhood is a lively and resourceful, but tiring, rather messy and very busy neighborhood.
Pleasant for a few tourist days but few expatriates decide to settle there in the long term.
Most public institutions, bank headquarters and skyscrapers are located there, as well as many tourist attractions such as the Ngoc Son Temple, Hanoi Opera House, the National Museum of Vietnam History or the Water Puppet Show.

Hanoi Old Town

The French Quarter - BA DINH

Located 15 minutes by car from downtown Hanoi (Hoan Kiem), it is the political center of Vietnam.
It is a quiet and authentic district.
The main places to see in this district are: the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the headquarters of the Vietnamese Communist Party, the botanical garden and many buildings from the French colonial era.

LONG BIEN

This district, located north of Hoan Kiem, is accessed by a bridge built by Gustave Eiffel.
You will find many of them that are often appreciated by expatriates for their comfort and safety.
