Sometimes, in your life, you need to take for you and when you have the opportunity to go on a trip with your friends, just do it.
We left Saigon with Cambodia Angkor Air company for Phnom Penh on Friday evening, 7PM.
A friend of mine live here since 10 years!
30 minutes later, we went out the plane, incredible. We've done our visa application online so no need to wait during hours at the border gate.
Then, we spent our evening at Terrazza, an Italian restaurant, such a good one! Owners welcomed us in an exceptional way.
Right after, we went to the Russian market where we met same ladies who still have theirs stands (which are our favourite). They even recognised us after many years.
Day 2 :
Brunch at Tatie's near the national museum. Great place which is always fully.
Nostalgia when you get us: the national museum which is, in my opinion, the most beautiful building in Phnom Penh.
Moreover, the royal palace had been renovated. After, we have shopping in street 240.
Don't hesitate to tour the city by tuktuk to see all colonials and art-deco buildings : train station, post office...
Special mention for Pepe Bistro where you can eat really well.
At 5, we left Phnom Penh for Siem Reap. 5 hours from the capital. We took a minivan.
We will spend our journey at La Bastide de Caro, in the heart of the city.
You can also eat well.
Bedrooms here are spacious, clean and modern. Swimming pool is surrounded by sumptuous gardens.
Special mention for Chris, the hotel's manager who took care about us during all our journey.
Day 3 :
Angkor temple by bicycles: it was gorgeous. You have cycles areas around temples, in the forest which is cool.
You can rent bicycles for a day and it is not expensive. You will have a brand new one which are qualitative directly in Siem Reap.
Then, we went back to the hotel and enjoyed the swimming pool. Indeed, it was hot during our journey.
Dining at FCC, one of the most famous restaurants here. You can visit Christian Develter's gallery near the restaurant. I love this place.
Day 4 :
After a good night and a huge breakfast, we went to visit the Theam Gallery.
I'm speechless when I have to describe this place... no excuse, if you go to Siem Reap, you must visit this place.
I am pretty sure that you will love it.
Then, we have walked near canal. Banks have been developed, it is very pleasant. We went shopping again, saw the incredible work of craftsmen of Angkor : some very traditional streets with very beautiful shops in Siem Reap and it is already time to fly back to Saigon.
Cambodia let us speechless, one more time. We were amazed, very different places and atmospheres, incredible restaurants and easy access from Saigon.
